We would like to explore the possibilities of Kansas City having a new mayor later this year.

Our mission will include serving our community in seeking Mark Funkhouser’s removal as mayor.
Kansas City needs to move past the lethargic mayorship of Mark Funkhouser.
As a group of concerned citizens, we hope our efforts will be equally beneficial to everyone in Kansas City.

How you got to this site is not important.
What we need are positive people willing to help gather the needed signatures for the recall petition.
How are we going to get the 20,000 legal signatures?
With a lot of friends and neighbors.

This is strictly grassroots.
Our plan is this:
1. Gather together a group of 20 dedicated volunteers to help manage the “GET OUT THE MESSAGE” campaign.
This group will spearhead the media message and also;
Help pass out info cards directing people to our site and contact numbers.
We intend to have a “media spokesperson of the week”.
Are you comfortable in front of the camera? If so we NEED you.
Monitor the website
Help create new ways to bring in more volunteers.
2. From the small group we hope to grow to over two hundred volunteers. These people will gather the signatures needed to get the recall on the ballot in August. We are hoping for at least 200. If each person gets 100 signatures we have met our goal. But life does get in the way of good intentions, so we really want a lot more of you to sign up. We plan to get signatures at the end of May and the beginning of June.
3. We need help. We need people willing to help with the graphics. People able to do some of the printing. People to call back fellow citizens who sign up.
Now honestly, just how disappointed are you with our current Mayor? Enough to try? Enough to get some of your friends and family members to join up? Are you ready to do some thinking on ways to get the word out as inexpensively as possible? Yes, WE NEED YOU.
The numbers needed are daunting, but if it was easy to unseat a sitting Mayor, then we would do it a lot. Mark Funkhouser needs to be removed from office. This cause is worth the effort.
